Welcome to the East Texas Healthcare and Emergency Management Summer Roundtable series sponsored by the Institute for Homeland Security at Sam Houston State University. This summer we seek to learn about emergency preparedness in relation to healthcare throughout the region. We are striving to understand strengths, opportunities, weaknesses, and threats faced by East Texans tied to critical infrastructure protection topics. It is our hope that these roundtables will produce the type of data and information necessary to complete research and to begin to build programs and resources for East Texans in the emergency management space. We are devoted to creating an ongoing conversation with benefits to East Texas emergency management at its core. Further, we intend to share this assessment and related research with policy makers and grantors that are concerned with issues that matter to East Texas. Please join us!
