Rose Kader worked for the City of Huntsville as a Planner for eight years where she helped both citizens and developers navigate complex rules and regulations while fostering collaboration to positively impact the development of the city. Working then as the Assistant to the Associate Vice President of Information Technology for seven years, Rose helped evaluate, monitor, and manage software contracts, projects, and budgets while fostering an environment of communication and collaboration at Sam Houston State University (SHSU). Prior to joining the Institute for Homeland Security, Rose was the Project Manager for the College of Criminal Justice working with Subject Matter Experts and Instructional Designers to create and launch new premium distance learning courses in Security Studies, Criminology and Criminal Justice, and Victimology. Process driven and detail oriented, Rose loves learning and creating frameworks to manage complex projects. We are excited to have Rose help us lay the educational framework as we begin our journey to construct security and resilience education for professionals in the critical infrastructure industries across Texas.

Rose is a proud SHSU Bearkat earning both her Bachelor’s of Science in Geography and Master’s in Business Administration. She is currently pursuing her PMP certification and is an active volunteer with her local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Rose enjoys the outdoors and is climbing her way to the highest points in each state. Rose aims high and does her best to bring simplicity and understanding to help transform the lives of those she serves, always looking at the big picture and end results.
