Request Course

Course Overview:

This course explores the threats faced by the water and wastewater sector and how these threats can create vulnerabilities that may disrupt operations. It highlights the crucial role employees play in enhancing the sector's resilience. The course covers various topics, including the Risk and Resilience Assessment (RRA) required by the American Water Infrastructure Act of 2018, Emergency Response Plans (ERP), and the interdependencies within the sector. The course also presents a methodology for measuring and ranking vulnerability rates using various filters from the Criticality, Accessibility, Recoverability, Vulnerability, Effect, and Recognizability (CARVER) method, applied to the critical components identified within the water and wastewater sector. Throughout the course, students will participate in a series of group exercises that allow them to apply the lessons learned. By the end of the course, each student will develop a vulnerability assessment sheet that ranks the vulnerability of the critical assets they have identified.
