Nadav Morag, Ph.D., has an impressive educational background and extensive experience in the field of homeland security. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Tel Aviv University in 2000, with a dissertation focusing on political geography and nationalism in Cyprus, Palestine, and Ireland. Prior to this, he earned his M.A. and B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1990 and 1987, respectively.

Currently, Morag holds the position of Professor and Chair (with tenure) in the Department of Security Studies at the College of Criminal Justice, Sam Houston State University (SHSU) in Huntsville, Texas. He has been serving in this role since July 2020. Additionally, he is a Steering Committee Member at the Institute for Homeland Security at SHSU since September 2021.

Morag is also actively involved in various academic and professional activities related to homeland security. He serves as a Senior Consultant at the Center for Homeland Defense and Security, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California, a position he has held since March 2005. Furthermore, he holds editorial roles in several prominent homeland security publications, including Senior Editor at Homeland Security Affairs since May 2018.

His current academic service at SHSU includes membership in the Council of Academic Department Chairs and participation in various committees related to faculty search, admissions, curriculum, and university and college leadership.

Morag's expertise and involvement in academia and professional consultancy highlight his significant contributions to the field of homeland security and his commitment to advancing research and education in this area.
